burning man
I was first introduced to burning man by two amazing ladies on an airplane on my way to Seattle. We had a stopover in Reno and somehow they convinced me to cancel my connecting flight, get my luggage off of the other plane and follow them to a crazy festival out in the desert. I've been every year since. 2000 was my first year and I stayed with the amazingly generous people of the Hookahdome. The year after some friends and I organized The Grid. In 2002 we were the Love N Sea-Inn and this year we are proud to combine the showmanship of a carnival with the guilt of Catholicism in J.C.'s Cirque du Sacrilege. Which should be an amazing production. If you haven't been, you don't know what you're missing. Part societal experiment, party weeklong party, humanity just doesn't get better than burning man...
